This pink blossom is an Australian native plant which I passed while riding on the beachside cycle pathway near Abbey Beach.  I just had to stop my bike to take a few pics, while my husband and our dog patiently waited alongside.  This plant must be very tough, as it was growing in sandy soil and flowering in the heat of summer when it doesn't rain for weeks on end here in the southwest of Western Australia.
